Cask at troon ber fest 07. Aroma is fairly sulphury, nutty malts, floural hop, but blends well. Taste has some good malt character, caramel and spice making it quite tasty.

Half pint pulled at the brewery’s pub, The Black Bull Inn in Coniston itself (Lake District). Brown in colour with a thin white head. A warming malt aroma with some caramal. Surprisingly light, maybe a little watery. A sweet malty flavour with a smooth finish.

(cask @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Rich red color with a foamy tan head. Aroma is rather hoppy at the front with some nice citrus notes and sweet malts. Flavor begins with a very present hop and floral taste which moves on to a smooth and malty middle and a dry and slightly bitter finish. Very smooth and easy to drink.

On Cask @ Buckeye Beer Engine 3/24/07, pint glass: Frothy, thick, and creamy, cream colored head w/ a mildly hazy medium amber brownish beer. Decidedly floral and citrusy hops @ first w/ a healthy yeasty aroma to back up the hops. Lightly tobacco/earthy hints as well. Some malty notes that are reminiscent of saltine crackers, but faint to go along w/ all the caramel malts and hops. Also a healthy fruity, green apple nose. Well balanced up front, but turns lightly bitter in the finish. The malty back bone keeps the dominant herbal and citrusy hop flavors from getting out of hand, and has a bit of a yeasty bite to go along w/ the green apple fruitiness. Afteraste is toasty malt and yeasty flavored. Smooth, but dry m/f, lighter medium body, low level of CO2. Very nice session beer! I was not sure of the ABV when I had this, but for a 4.2% beer, nice complex for what seemed to be a smaller beer.

Cask at the Beer Engine. Poured a slightly hazy golden copper color. Mild aroma of estery fruits and bread. Mild flavor as well, crisp with some fruityness and a bitter finish. Very nice beer, I enjoyed all the work that went into pumping out of the beer engine.

Cask at The Beer Engine. Aroma: Toffee, raisins, toasted nuts. A fair amount of earthy hops. Appearance: Light brown in color and slightly hazed. Medium beige head was full and creamy with good retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Toffee, grapes and raisins, toasted nuts, and a slight chocolate flavor. A fair amount of earthy and resinous hop flavor and a nice hop bite. Slightly sweet finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Overall: A pleasant beer. Well balanced and good for sessioning.

Tap at HDG. Hazy amber beer, creamy white head. Woody hop aroma. Earthy hop aroma over slightly bready/honeyish malts. Lingering yeastiness. Decent body, balanced with a touch of berryish ester flavour. Decent bitter.
