Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.
Oats are used in the grist of this beer to give body and smoothness, enhancing the roasted barley, giving it complex flavours reminiscent of dark chocolate and coffee. This is balanced by a fresh hop bitterness and dry silky finish.

[cask, The White Hart, Bouth] Deep blackish brown pour, decent cream-coloured head. Roasty, chalky aroma, plenty of chocolate on the nose. Flavour-wise, it has a lot going on – there’s plenty of that chocolate roast, with a decent alcohol presence on the finish as well. Really very nice [26082012]

Cask at SIBA festival. Black with a light tan head. Aroma of oats, gingersnaps and toffee. In the mouth it's like fresh oatcakes, a little ginger, burnt sugar and a pleasant light bitter finish. Nice.

Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest ’12. Black with cream head. Full and fruity stout with a sweetish, grainy background. There is a light coffee note that drifts in giving some bitterness. A good decent beer.

Cask. A deep red beer with no head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and roasted malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Cask, brewpub. Dark brown with a thin head. Oaty, milk chocolatey aroma is pretty appetizing. Chocolate palate with mellow nutty coffee notes. Slightly acidity at the back cuts what is otherwise a creamy mouthfeel.
