It took an excessively insidious human being to have the word “Brutal” added to the dictionary on his account. Marcus Junius Brutus the younger is one such individual. The infamous assassin of Julius Caesar, Brutus is forever regarded as one deserving of his name. Pitch black in body, Brutus wields his weapons of chocolate malt, roasted barley, and oatmeal to wreak havoc on your tastebuds. With a body thick enough to coat your palate and leave his stain forever in your memory, Brutus invites you to join him in his dark quest for control of the known world. OG: 27.4 degrees Plato Malts: American Two-Row, Dextrine Malt, American Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Rolled Oats Hops: Warrior

Sample @ RBWG, Asheville. Deep brown with a small head. Oatmeal raisin cookie. Chocolate cake. Pretty sweet aroma. The taste is similar. Chocolate wafers with a bit of ash. Somewhat dry on the finish. Medium body, slightly oily. Decent.

Growler sample during RBWG. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, chocolate, earthy bitterness and some dark fruit. Basic RIS that hides the abv nicely.

Growler to taster at RBWG (shared by jcwattsrugger). Looks good; an opaque chocolate with thin beige lacing and soft carbonation. Smells of dark malt, chocolate, and light roast. Tastes like it smells with what seems to be some pepper notes as well. Solid on the palate. Enjoyable.

750ml. Black color. Thin light brown head. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Lightly crisp carbonation. Lightly slick. Some good dark chocolate flavor. Some cola, bigger roast. Big roast barely, kind of dominates the flavor. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Solid imperial stout.
