COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sacred Heart IPA pays homage to the past while redefining the future. Blurring the lines between East Coast and West Coast IPA, it is both balanced and bitter, both tropical and satisfying. Double dry hopped with Citra and Centennial for a huge, juicy hop flavor that is reminiscent of Mango, Pineapple and Grapefruit, Sacred Heart will satisfy the most hardcore of hopheads while maintaining an approachability that even a new craft beer drinker can enjoy. A six-step mash lends a ridiculously complex malt backdrop to the main event: the hops. The glorious Tiger Flower that none of us can get enough of. With a clean and dry finish, Sacred Heart will leave you wanting to sip, just once moreÖ

UPDATED: APR 21, 2014 Sampled on tap fresh from the Conquest brewery in Columbia SC. Features a standard IPA pale amber appearance with maybe a little more reddish or burnt orange tint. Pleasant tropical hop aroma and even more pleasant tropical hoppy taste that managed to avoid excessive bitterness. Malty balance is well done. Very drinkable and the most enjoyable of the Conquest line Iíve sampled. Worth trying if you can find it, look for it on tap in the Southeast US but also occasionally in 22 ouncers. A respectable quality micro-brew! ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Growler courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours amber with a white head. Nose is slightly vegetal with hints of tropical fruit and citrus. Flavor is similar- caramel with hints of citrus, passion fruit, and tropical fruit, all the while having vegetal notes around the background. Light to medium in body and nice overall.

Fresh fruity smell, decent for an IPA, not too hoppy, slightly sweet finish...good beer! Better with time as palate adjusts

Average IPA. A little maltier than I prefer. Interesting hop combination, but needs more hop character and tone down on the malt, caramel presence. Could be better if tweaked correctly. The Sacred Heartier is better, the Imperial version.

From tap at brewery. Pours an amber / orange color with small white head. The aroma was great on this with the big citra hop notes of tropical and citrus fruit. A little spice also came through. Taste is much like the Sacred Heart but with a little more grassy, earthy hop balanced with the sweet caramel malt. Overall good. Could use a little more mouth feel. A bit thin.

From tap. Pours a deep golden almost amber color with small head. Aroma has tons of juicy citrus wallop. The taste comes through with a wonderfully light but balanced taste with a clean, crisp and refreshing finish. Very good beer and point on in style.

Wow! I just had their blonde and IPA tonight so Iím reviewing them while they are fresh on my mind. I have had sacred heart before and thought it was good, but not a real Ipa as far as style guide lines. It didnít have enough hop presence and was to amber to be an iPa, but they have dialed it in well. The color is still a bit amber, but its beautiful. And I would enjoy more complexity to the hop profile, but it still is amazing! The mouth feel is spot on and the aroma is heavenly. I would agree with the ratings for the early SH except that one guy, there is always one, but the new stuff its border line world class. All the previous review dates are prior to the current release. They are learning their system well!
