Cask in the White Swan, Stokesley. Amber with a cream head. Not much in the way of aroma. The taste has toasty malt and light citrus. Pretty dull.

Hippoman (646) - Durham, ENGLAND - FEB 27, 2016
Cask at The Market Tavern, Durham, £3.65/pint. Dark, ruby-brown beer with a small but frothy off-white head. The aroma is led by biscuity malts but also has a slightly unpleasant acidic tinge that carries through into the taste too. There are also some smoky burnt treacle and sultana flavours. A little rough around the edges. Not great.

danlo (2606) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2014
500ml bottle from Cheese & Wine Shop, Darlington. Clear dark reddish brown colour, off-white foam head leaving alittle lacing and aroma of malt, raisins, tangy fruity. Taste is biscuity malt, sweetish with toffee, berry fruit notes and some spice & bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy finish with some lingering sweetness. Quite drinkable.

Pint at the Schooner Gateshead. Lovely looking beer: rich ruby red with a dense white head. Fruity aroma, raisins, red fruit and toffee flavour. Medium carbonation, clean palate. Pulls off a great trick of balancing smokiness and fruitness.

rauchbier (3808) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JUL 7, 2013
Bottle, from The Village Store, Goathland. Russet gold, thin but lasting white head and moderate condition. Fruity raisins, chocolate and slight roasted barley notes in the nose, quite tangy and fruity in the mouth with a touch of yeastiness and a roasted dry bitterness developing, finish is a mix of fruit and bitter chocolate with a little bitterness lingering briefly.

niquillis (2344) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2011
On cask at Centurion, Newcastle. Pours dark ruby red with a thin white head. Strong berry hints, with a hop finish. Very good red beer but it does have a funny aftertaste, stewed berry tea?

Bullit (4460) - Burgos, SPAIN - FEB 23, 2009
Cask @ 3 Judges. Clear amber colour, white head. Aroma of roasted malts and biscuit. Flavour is sweet and fruity, with biscuit malts. Some hoppiness. Sweet finish.
