Pitch half with a dense yellowish head. Creamy, chocolate-accented Stout with a musty hop presence. Touches of vanilla and sourness. Some Marmite stickiness in the snout. Long smoky afters. Very moreish Stout.

Aroma of soft roasted malt and light coffee.
Taste of roasted malts...dark caramel malts....bit of treacle...some burnt crust
Palate - soft carb...thin body. Finish as main flavour...light burnt crust...cleans well...tad dull <br/<Overall - Slightly above average beer...just wan’t much going on here from me rather plain

Tap, Twice Brewed Inn - Pours black with a creamy beige head. Smells like it was just dug up out of the earth with a slightly roasted edge to it and a bit of tobacco. Long aftertaste that has a slightly bitter ending to it. Not to be missed!

Cask Handpump at the Star Inn, Huddersfield 31/03/2007 Small white head. Rich and slightly fruity aroma. Dark strong in alcohol and fruity with a crisp and bitter burnt roast finish.

Black with a tinge of amber. Medium-dense cream head with a hint of cottage cheese to it. Lovely roasted, chocolate nose. First flavor at palate comes with chocolate, then burnt malts, but it goes a bit too far, giving a bitter, slightly tobacco ashes flavor. Thin body, typical of a UK stout, but a nice way to brew it if you ask me. (handpulled cask at Three Judges, Glasgow)

Actually really nice stout. Aroma is nicely roasted sweet malts touch of chocolate with well balanced kind of strange spicey grassy hops. Taste is similar nicely on the slightly thin side of medium body, really drinkable.
