3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Botteltje bar in Ostend, Belgium. A golden/amber coloured pour with a decent white head on top. Fruity, sweet, Belgian aroma. Tastes fruity, quite sweet, malty, honey. I’ve also had this on tap a few times, really nice Belgian ale, this is almost a Belgian session beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle conditioned Chelmsford beer festival, 2006. Maeib bought this then realised that he, Kook and Duff had already had it before. Orange coloured with high carbonation. Candy, sugary sweet and a touch of fizzy cough syrup. A touch of pepper. Easy drinking Belgian.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 6/21/11 from a 330mL bottle. Pours pale orange with tons of chunky sediment and a pillowy white head that slowly recedes to thin, spotty lace. The nose is earthy and bitter hops, dusty, orange peel, and a hint of spicy Belgian yeast. The flavor is lightly sweet malt up front, dusty, a hint of spicy Belgian yeast, and lightly earthy and bitter hops. The body is medium with an oily texture, average carbonation, and a long dusty, earthy, and bitter finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottles - Smooth and slightly spicy, with typical but not all too heavy Belgian yeastiness and a relieving low ABV for a Belgian ale. Creamy, sweetish yet dry, well-balanced and very drinkable - and yet oddly, the least remarkable - most traditional in the impressive Valeir range (modern atkes on typical Belgian taste profiles) by Contreras so far.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Eiderdown. Pours deep golden with small white head into a snifter. Little lacing, medium body, light carbonation, and spicy citrus aroma. Taste is spicy dry citrus and finishes bitter hops. Wouldn’t seek this again.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home, from Glouglouburp, served in my Minneapolis Town Hall glass. Pours cloudy deep orange with a greenish cast. Thick white head that laces well. Nose is green apple, fresh bread, estery with some barnyard and hay. Very gentle in the nose. Flavours are round and creamy - almost brioche-like in texture, and the low hop bitterness is a pleasant surprise. Nice barnyardy fruit, cream, and hay, with a long, creamy, and lightly spicy finish. I could drink this all day!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Aroma of floral, herbal, and spicy notes, seemingly all from hops, and complex, light grain notes. Flavor brings in some citrus but again focuses in on wheat, hay, grass, as well as some clove, pepper, and nutty/earthy yeasty notes. Finishes with a spice and apricot kick. Really nice stuff.
