Pours cloudy golden with a short white head and a fruity hay-like aroma. There is a sweet fruity flavor with a yeast presence and a dry finish.

I like this one! Poured with a giant off white foamy frothy thick fine head and lots of lace. Color is a clear amber. Aroma at first was definitely skunk and in fact that lingers, but caramel earth and spice start to show up too. Flavor has almost none of the not so good stuff and is an odd mix bitter sweet and dry. Body is very good and full, but not too and has champagne carbonation. Finish is like flavor: mostly light sweetness with a little lingering bitterness as it tapers off in medium length. Good burps. Recommend drinking without smelling.

rand (1299) - SWITZERLAND - MAY 7, 2010
Bottle 33 cl from Willems in Grobbendonk (B). Hazy blond slightly amber, ivory foam gushing, thicky sparkling. Fruity nose, sweetness of malt, hints of hops, lemon, tea, orange and spices. Taste sweet and round. The soft orange, without the zest, is dotted with discreet touches of bitterness, mostly in final, a bit flat and watery.

Draught at TND: Lightly sweet aroma of pale malt, slight hops, and slight grass. Poured yellow/gold in color with a large, white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Bery sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of pale malt, light Belgian yeast, and hints of hops and grass. Medium body. Tingly, then dry texture. Lively carbonation. Pale malt and slight hop finish is dry. 8.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Tap at Max’s. Cloudy straw colored, small white head. Aroma of spider web. Yeasty, doughy taste, decent enough malt, but not very exciting. I agree with Tarheels86: Meh. Not sure what Meh means, but it fits.

I’m not usually disposed towards dry golden beers of the Belgian variety, but Valeir Divers knocked my socks off... When I was asked to describe the taste, the first term that came was "aristocratic." It is dry without being weak or unduly bitter, having almost a savoriness to the flavor instead. This is what Duvel would like to be when it grows up.
