During the British Colonial Times, the English exported beer to India. To preserve the beer for a longer period, extra-hopped beers were produced (hops maintain natural preservation and add bitterness to the beer).

Tap in Moeder Fontainas. Bright golden colour, thickish foam. Bit of a disappointment this one, rather bland, kind of generic Belgianish ale. Really couldn’t think of much more to say, which says it all really. It was of course fine, but struggled in the environment. Dunno if batch was dodgy or something given other reviews, but I was sober and it was forgettable.

Bottle from Bottleworks.

Pours into a tulip with a rich nearly white head atop a body of cloudy amber with lots of sediment. The aroma is grapefruit hops and a touch of some strange oil lubricant. The flavor is surprisingly sweet and dominated by the grapefruit; light caramel below with apricot and bubblegum. This is a fairly one-dimensional beer and a strange one to my taste; oh SO easy to drink in a way that reminds me why I love beer.

Golden color with a nice white head. Aroma is floral hops and malt. Flavor is the same but a little bit sweeter. Low carbonation and well bodied with a very nice bitter finish. Good one!

Mooie schuimkraag bij het schenken. Troebel bier ( te troebel voor mij). Goed van smaak . Maar te gewoon voor lang herinnerd te worden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of flowers and hops with mild citric notes. Bitter, hoppy flavour with subtle fruity hits, growing more pronounced and enhanced by caramel malt notes towards the finish. A mild touch of aniseed. Bitter but unobtrusive aftertaste. Decent.

11.2oz bottle. Orange gold color, totally hazy with all the fine particles in the body. Thin white head. Couple dots of lace. Bigger body. Softer, lighter carbonation with a more dry finish. Spicy flavor, a little musty, some metallic. Some yeast flavor. Hint of citrus. Bigger spicy taste, some sweet, moderate bitter. Alright belgian ale, but I’m not crazy about this.

11.2 oz bottle to snifter (shared by DrSilverworm). Looks good; a cloudy orange with white lacing. Smells of Belgian yeast with notes of dough, hops, and spices. Tastes like it smells with a touch of caramel. Solid on the palate. Enjoyable.
