During the British Colonial Times, the English exported beer to India. To preserve the beer for a longer period, extra-hopped beers were produced (hops maintain natural preservation and add bitterness to the beer).

Pours a cloudy light amber/golden with a decent sized cream colored head that stays for awhile and produces nice lacing. Aroma is complex with grapefruit, passion fruit, pinapple, light malt and an undertone of Belgian yeast. Very light sweetness with medium to heavy bitterness, short dry finish. Medium bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonation. Of all of the Belgian IPA’s I have had so far this one is by far my favorite.

Pours gold with white head and no lacing. Aroma is light with sweet white grapes and Belgium yeast. Taste is bitter hops and bubblegum. Its decent but too much beligen malts if you ask me.. The alcohol is very easy to taste.

Licht troebel amberkleurig bier met eierschalen schuimkraag. Sterk bloemig aroma met fruitige hoptoets. Mild mondgevoel, matig zoet en middelgrote bitter met citrus toets. Bitterzoete afdronk. Eerder een IPA dan een Belgian Ale...

Bottle. Deep peachy nose, some mild funk, light mango. Sugary fruit initial, honey, rich peach. very light bitterness. Thin body. Tasty. Rich in mid palate, fades gently.

Orange with a soapy foam top. Smells very hoppy. Taste is bitter and sweet, with some citrus, earth, burnt caramel. Long finish, very tasteful for such low alcohol percentage, but a bit too sticky

Bottle 33cl. Cloudy medium amber color, one finger frothy off-white head, sizzles down quickly, good lacing; strong aroma of floral and grassy hops, fruity (orange, tangerine, peach), some honey, yeast, hint of basement; mild taste, moderate sweet and medium bitter, citrus notes; medium body, oily to light creamy texture, average carbonation, tingly mouthfeel, finish mild bittersweet; overall a crisp and smooth ale, very refreshing, quite nice.

Transparent amber, strong white head. Noteable continental hop aroma and some maltiness. Sweet with nice bitterness, nice body, though finishes slihtly sour and watery. Ok, but not much else.

Usually not a fan of Belgian IPAs. this is a darker orange, 1 finger head beer served in a stubby bottle. Nose is sweet, yeast forward, bread-like and with a bit of caramel. Nice mouth feel...almost bottle conditioned. hops are sligtly faded, tree pine notes and leave a sweet crystal sugar taste afterward.

Basically the old Extra revisited and now incorporated in the Valeir brand. Thick, creamy, yellowish white head over a cloudy yellow blonde beer. Strong floral and grassy hoppiness in the nose, tonic water, grapefruit peel, orange, young ’jenever’, pineapple. Crisp fruity taste, citrussy freshness, tingling and minerally, nutty touch, long and dry finish of elegant, aromatic and flowery hoppiness; hoppier than before and clearly influenced by the new ’Belgian IPA’ style.
