[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Clear golden ale with a decent white head. Grassy, soft aroma, some bitterness on the nose as well. Tastes quite dry and refreshing, some citrus fruit before the dry finish. Ultimately a session blonde ale, does exactly what you’d expect [22072011]

It’s a blonde thing. They are often like a Monet in that they are alsways good from afar. A long lasting session of head is always good thing. The aromas were intoxicating, in a you know you are going to get some drunk kind of bready, light and fluffy and a little yeasty (ok in a sexual themed rating that one doesn’t go over as well, but it was a part of the aroma). She is a little quiet (flavors muted) which is good considering the amount of people around who could see, but that quietness was really more of a velvety touch on the tounge. Its taste was ehavenly with just the right level of aggressive moves (bite at the end) and carbination like (for a cask ale) and this soft delicate tender moment in my mouth. All in all I’d do it again and would even recommend to friends.

Cask, The City Arms (JDW), Earlsdon, Coventry. Orange gold, tenacious white collar. Pleasant sherbety, orange skin aroma with wood and green herbs. Juicy orange hop, dustings of earth, parsley, pepper..solid creamy malt base. Unfussy, a bit watery, but very decent. Could see a few of these off.
