3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DruncanVeasey (6116) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 15, 2009
Bottle from Bulko Spa. I was crouching down so low in there trying to excavate the real stuff from the shelves the security guard came and stood next to me. Dusky orange glow, white slick of suds, neck clogged with grey yeast. Interesting. Lovely surprising floral and citrus aroma in the midst of a session of very dull ales; peach, elderflower, pineapple cubes, wring of dishcloth, musky US hop, jellybeans. Rulles and Amarillo?? Mouth earthier with pine, orange, grapefruit, and still that perfumey elderflower note. Mellow bitterness to finish. Hands down best beer from this brewer I’ve had.

Cask, Woodrow Wilson, Carlisle. Pale orange, dry bitter. Reasonably hoppy, with a biscuity aftertaste. Dryness gives way to a pleasantly malty flavour on the tongue, with a touch of caramel detected.
