2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 24, 2011
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in May 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin buff head. Slight note of digestive tea biscuit in the weak aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts deliver a weak tea biscuit flavour laced with a dry currant fruit note. Malt body really lacks punch though and tastes watery. Thin hop resins give a sharp metallic tang which is rather short lived. Bitter sweet finish. A poor effort.

Bottle 500 ml from Thirst for Beer in Pwllheli (Wales). Ale amber-orangy, flat and without foam. Flavor bitter, round of some steams malted, keys of toffy. The taste seems in two phases, at first on the smooth malt and then comes the bitterness of grapefruit and grass notes. Similar end, malted then dry with bitterness of grapefruit.
