3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, - OCT 22, 2008
Bottle picked up at Marches Little Beer Shoppe, Ludlow, Salop 18-10-08 consumed 21-10-08 Pours hazy golden colour but initially quite high carbonation. The honey is done rather well in this beer as there is still rather a nice bitterness showing, its not too sweet and quite soft in the mouth, really liked this beer.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 wimpyjoe (429) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2012
Lovely sweet aroma, slightly cloudy but looks good. It’s taste is no more than a light sweetness.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 dogbomb (277) - ENGLAND - MAY 4, 2012
M&S Bottle. lightly hazy golden with nice carbonation, and a fluffy white head. Malty wheat smell, mild flowery hoppiness. Maltiness in the mouth, but not much "oomph". Bit of bitter hoppiness and a very slight pronounced honey taste - but lacking. Finish is dry bitter and pleasant enough, but again just lacking those elements which make a beer special.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 foxo82 (162) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2012
Bottle sold by Marks & Spencer under the alias Welsh Honey Bitter. A clear blonde with a small head but very little lacing. Aroma is surprisingly strong for a golden ale with wafts of honey, caramel and even Baileys. As you would expect from that, the taste is very much swinging towards the sweeter end of the scale; however, it does have a hidden, lightly bitter after taste and just a hint of hops that can only be fully acknowledged after a few mouthfuls. A pleasant honey beer.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 24, 2011
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in October 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin milky white head. Slight note of clear honey in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive biscuit base with dry warming traces of mead. Dusty hop resins present in the short aftertaste. Finish is slightly sweet with honey still evident at the end. An ok Golden Ale but there are better examples of this honey style out there.

On cask at JDW, Llandudno. An earthy bitter with a sweet honey aftertaste. I’m not usually a fan of honey beers but this was good.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 oh6gdx (16047) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 24, 2010
Cask@GBBF2010. Yellowish golden colour with a mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is caramel malts, bready malts, some slight toasted notes as well as herbs, nectar and some honey. Flavour is quite much the same in a rather nice balance.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 tommann (1448) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUL 8, 2010
500ml bottle. As Marks & Spencer Welsh Honey Bitter. Pours a lemon golden with a small head. Smells a bit yeasty with some citrus and a hint of honey. Not much to taste, very gassy and an astringent finish. Not that nice, to be honest.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 larsga (4662) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 3, 2010
Small offwhite head doesn’t last. Deep coppery body. Spicy milk and honey aroma, very harmonic. Dry strawy floral earthy taste with mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry mealy earthy peas aftertaste sort of ends in nothing. Quite nice, but not major. (0.5l bottle, RealAle.com.)
