3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask, Black Lion Leighton Buzzard.Pale. Good lacing on a frothy clean white head. Strong hop on the nose. Spicey, sour & bitter. None of the citrus topical fruit flavours offered by the new world hops. This is a traditional British hop pale ale. Nice.

The Felix Holt, Nuneaton. Pale gold narrowly capped with white.
Nose grass and lime. Good clean biscuit base overlaid with stewed grassy and thistle sap hop. Quite a result from Fuggles. A bit bilious, but fine.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned handpump Eastgate Northampton 08/03/14 A blonde beer with a bright white head. A fairly decent citrussy hoppy beer. At first it seems there’s a really forced orangey flavour but then it mellows and it’s actually quite nice. Never would have thought this was Fuggles.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Cask. Light haze on this gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and has good fine carbonation. Smooth semi dry malt, lightly sweet. The hops are pretty well balanced. Light spicy bitterness with thin orange pith. Whisper of lemon. Finishes dry and crisp. Refreshing and clean.
