Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours rich ruby, clear, with a small, foamy head. Moderate berries in the nose, some light coffee and roast character. Light sweet flavor with dark bread, light cocoa, faint toast and roast, light coffee, Light bodied with soft to fine carbonation. Lightly sweet on the finish with toasty cocoa, very faint fruits and dark, toasty bread. Nice mild.

Botted. Dark amber coloured. Light brown dense head. Light sweet and roasty aroma. Fruity touch. Flavour is a bit dusty and has herbs, roastyness and light caramel as the most distinct notes. Medium bodied. Fruity and light roasty end.

Half, cask at Counting House. A deep dark brown coloured ale with a beige, circular edge to the rim of the glass. Plain dark malty nose. Roasted mid-sweet, dark malts in flavour, hints of dark fruits, too. Ashy dry mouthfeel. Malt-bitter end. Ok (Glasgow, 12.04.2012).

Bottle. Brown with a thin foam. Aromas are lightly roast coffee with chocolate. Cola with weetabix and yeast. Some slight nuttiness. Flavours are sweet chocolate and diet cola with spritzy yeast. Dry with some dark chocolate and grapefruit bitterness on the finish. Good.
