Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber with slight white head. Tinny malty bitter with a yeasty finish. It just seems unfinished and is very dull. Disappointing.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DruncanVeasey (5147) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 27, 2010
Bottle conditioned from Conwy Tesco. Clear russet with a dissipating cream layer. Fresh rust and demerara scent at first; margarine at the edges, becoming doggy with the bits in. And my god are there some terrifying floaties lurking at the bottom of this mutha. Flavour buttery in a good way-plenty of caramelised and cookie notes; distinct rust, blackberry, almond and brown sugar creeping in, drainpipe. Balanced and rounded. Just wish I hadn’t unleashed The Bits.

Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton. An amber coloured beer with a whitish head. The aroma is very thin. It’s slightly malty in the mouth with a hint of fruit. very ordinary and disappointing though ultimately.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2010
Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Amber with a small white head. Sweet aroma, rather fruity with date and raisin. Very sweet malt taste, almost cloying, intensified by the fact it was served rather warm. Some late bitterness. I took my time with this one and it improved.
