Info: 500ml bottle, 30/3-2006 Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 10, 2007 Cask at GBBF 2006. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet spicy - especially nutmeg coming thru. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, and herbs, leading to a dry and slightly acidic end. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Dec 29, 2006 Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Quite dark copper/bronze character. Full, chewy malt character with good depth. Quite low bitterness but that doesn’t seem to detract too much. Toffee character without hops can be problematic but it works well enough here. There’s a very slight sour edge on the finish that fits with the fact that its based on the Porter (which I didn’t realise).
MoritzF (3883), Ruhrpott, Germany Aug 10, 2006 (bottle, with thanks to pivnizub) Clear, dark amber coloured effervescent hue with a creamy off-white layer. Dusty, slightly sweet dark malty aroma with a sourish fruity touch. Slightly sweet flavour, malty, sourish-fruity (red berries) taste with notes of caramel; slightly bitter and yeasty tart finish. Reminds me of some mediocre brews from Belgium. pivnizub (3900), Porúří, Germany Aug 10, 2006 Bottle: Hazy, small foamy layer, amber coloured; fruity and dark malty, almost toasted, and a bit sourish nose; sourish, slightly sweetish (fruity) flavour; malty, sourish, a bit tart and yeasty finish. Expensive and nasty.............
