Bottle from Vinomondo, Conwy. Black-brown with a thick bubbly head. Has a washy roasted malt aroma, with a more stated taste, but still a little thin tasting in terms of its texture - however not too much, it’s still a decent porter.

Bottle from Vinomondo, 19 High Street, Conwy, Gwynedd LL32 8DE. Inky black brown in colour with a massive rocky head of tan foam. It has a bitter-sweet chocolate, liquorice and plum flavour with roasted coffee on the creamy finish. Excellent!

Bottled. Coppery black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head, that leaves nice lace. Aroma is caramel, some liquorice, mild ashy and chocolaty notes to it. Flavour is toffee, ashes, some chocolate, mild coffee, roasted malts as well as some slight herbal notes. Rather bold palate and very smooth and filling to drink.

500ml bottle. Lost a quarter of it in an eruption of foam, not please A little watery, and a lack of nose, but it grew on me Well balanced with chocolate and a memory of espresso A session porter, perhaps

Bottle from MediaCityUK, Salford [261114]
Black, massive tan head, over carbonated, some lacing
Aroma of mellow roasted malts, soft sweet dark malts
Taste of mellow roast, quite rich dark malts, nice dark chocolate, no fruits, tasty
Palate - Medium carb and body, over fizzy, quite sweet. Finish of mellow roast, quite sweet plain dark chocolate afters
Overall - Good porter, spoiled by being over carbonated - once this had settled down (with a bit of stirring), it had quite a smooth mouthfeel.

Rune (10670) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 9, 2014
500ml bottle picked up at NWAF in Manchester last year. Beige-brownish head to a clear mahogany coloured body. Lacing rings down the glassware. Dark, mid-sweet, caramel aroma. Malty flavours, caramel, chocolate and lactose hints. Malty ending with leafy hops. Medium bodied. Has got its moments of decent beer drinking (shared with Finn, Tromsø 05.03.2014).

Flaske 0,5 l. Spandert av Rune og delt under seanse i WCveien 5 Mar 14. Mørk amber med et veldig høyt kremaktig skum. Flott kniplingslacing. God aroma av røstet malt & sjokolade. Smaken det samme. Svakt syrlig ettersmak.

BlackHaddock (5756) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2014
Hand-pulled pint in The Bear, Hodnet Shropshire on 7th Jan 2014. An easy drinking smooth Porter with all the usual attributes you’d expect from this style of beer. Dark body with a good head of tan coloured foam. Mild chocolate aroma and taste from the heavily roasted malts, no real bitterness within this brew. Dry enough and flavoursome, moving towards a semi-milk Stour sort of taste and feel if I’m honest. Pleased I tried a pint.

Grumbo (1110) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2013
Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn. A very dark red/brown, almost black, gently poured but produced a big creamy head. Mild chocolate aroma, with some caramel presence.

Beesbeer (452) - WALES - FEB 23, 2013
Interesting brew. Aroma of chocolate and stale laundry. Quite a full bodied beer on first couple of mouthfuls, then feels a little thinner. The flavour of toast and chocolate spread is quick to come and go. Not overly impressive.
