Corn-tasting, touch of perfumey hop; light, bland. These guys make their living selling cut-rate cases to really cheap establishments. Half the time the establishment in question sells it as some other brand, which is thoroughly illegal. Cool Beer’s biggest market is Hamilton, but they only have one handle?? Now, I don’t have anything personal against Cool Beer, but how is it that this situation can persist yet I can’t have beers mailed to me? And I can’t buy a growler at Denison’s??

Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 16, 2007
A pale lager with a thick white head. A light malt aroma with notes of solvents and diacetyl. In mouth, a rather non-descript lager, with light grainy cereals and adjunct. Boring. Brought back from TO by Probst, Oct. 2006.

Girls in skimpy t-shirts *did* sell this beer to me :) Clear yellow, little or no head. Hints at hops in the aroma and flavour. A bit bland, but achieves what it sets out to do, a decent attempt at a macro "lawnmower beer"

Minimal head, bright gold. This beer actually has some decent malt in it. Runs short at the end, slightly alcoholic at finish.

Sweet lemon, vegetal aroma. Clear blonde with light ring of white head. Very plain, slightly sweet, mildly grainy flavour. Light body with low carbonation. Forgettably bland without being offensive. Sampled at Mondial de la Bière 2005.

Bottle -- courtesy of GregClow. Fifth beer of the "Not-Very-Good-Beers-Tasting" - Day 2. Pours a clear pale yellow, quite bubbly, with an average size somewhat-lasting white head. Aroma’s sweet, floral and vegetal along with grain, cardboard and light grassy hops. Flavour: Ugh, not very pleasant at all -- it’s watery but that may be a good thing as it doesn’t taste very good. It gets a little better as I get slightly used to it but it’s still not good -- basically it’s watery sweet malt, grain and light grassy hops. Dull City. Light bodied. What can I say? If you drink stuff like Labatt Blue then you may as well drink this, it’s cheaper and probably a bit better but no one will ever mistake it for a quality beer. Avoid.

Pale yellow, faint banana ester aroma, watery and fruity, like bad home brew. Not cool.

Sample from 341 ml bottle at the Mondial. Totally clear and still light blonde with a hint of dying foam...awful salty-sewery nose, rotting cabbages and heavy metals...flavor not so rancid or awful but extraordinarily bland...tiny hints of malt and honey...brackish, salt water finish.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2008 [850-20071123] 341mL. Smells like a grainy haystack in a cornfield somewhere... covered in old people’s trousers. Clear, pale orange body with a quick foamy white head and a large column of bubbles up the middle. More grassy hay and yeast in the flavour. Light body. Poor. (4/3/4/2/8) 2.1

[1554B-20080730] Bottle. Straw and old wet hay aroma. Clear, light yellow brown body with quick white bubbles. Wet straw flavour has noticeable alcohol. Light body. Unpleasant. (3/2/4/3/9) 2.1

Label reminds me of Labatt Blue. Maybe its the colour and the maple leaf. This is one pale yellow beer. It almost looks like its sick. Fluffy head. Cheap corn aroma. Watery drink. Hard to call it beer. Not sure where the banana flavour comes from. It almost covers the corn. Drink it or dump it before it warms.
