Pours cloudy amber with a big frothy beige head. Aroma- yeast, ripe fruit, caramel, dough, apple, overall very lively. Taste is sweet initially with some yeast tartness coming through and a floral, roasty mildly bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. This beer is somewhere between a German Altbier and an Amber on this batch because of the German yeast addition.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a clear dark amber color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of hops and caramel malt. Light-bodied with flavors of hops and earthy malt, along with a bit of ripe fruit. The finish is malty with a short sweet aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Clear red orange color with minimal lacing. The aroma is very mild with a very slight musky feel. Bitter dirty palate that lacks a certain needed malt feeling. I’ve had better ambers.

Draft. Hazy amber pour with a thin off white head. Scent is a bit roasty. Taste is toasted malts, caramel and hops. Thin

Sampler pours a amber with a white head. Aroma of grass and caramel malts. Taste is grains, yeast and a suble sweetness.

Draft at brewpub. Hazy amber in the glass with a creamy off-white head that had some lasting and spotty lacing. The aroma found light toasted malt and grain. The flavor found toasted malt, light hop, grainy, and hints of metallic. Medium body.

Corny keg at Hamilton Creek. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of fruity ale esters. Lighter side of medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of caramel malts, with some toasty and nutty nuances, countered by a tamed spicy bitterness. Sort of boring by itself, but a good gateway beer or something to pair with food (pizza, wings, etc)

Clear dark amber color/ beige head. Mild nutty, chocolate, toffee aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Mild but nice roasted nutty, toffee flavors with mild chocolate, smooth easy finish.

on tap-pours an off white head and copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-peat/caramel. Taste is sweet medium malt-peat/caramel, slight earthy hops.

Deep gold pour with off white head and lace. Aroma of caramel malt dominates. Caramel malt and a light bitter. Medium bodied with good mouthfeel make this a pretty nice drinker.

Clear copper orange, off white sticky foam. Caramel and grassy aroma, dry. Taste is bitter, grainy, husky, caramel malts, astringent finish.
