COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian-style dark ale is the culmination of central and western European malts, Noble hops, candy sugar and a traditional Trappist yeast. Notes of dried fruit, cinnamon and vanilla make DNR a very complex experience to be enjoyed in moderation.

On tap at rePUBlic. Pours a clear deep amber red with a white head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has a decent amount of light fruit with sweet grains and hints of flora and caramel. Flavor begins with light fruit and sweet grains and finishes with caramel and booze.

One of the brewery’s better beers but average for the style. Fruity malt aroma with alcohol. Nice deep brown and amber color with a small head. The palate was light and smooth. The taste was true to style with Belgian yeast, fruit flavored malt with a hint of banana. Alcoholic and slightly tart finish. Also a little dry.

750 ml bottle picked up from Midtown Liquor in Tulsa. A reddish-bronze colored ale pours out with a very nice fluffy khaki head. There’s a fairly complex and interesting aroma to this consisting of ripe fruit; dates, apple, and pear, with Belgian yeast, clove, and cinnamon following. A rich malty flavor is accompanied by cinnamon and herbal spice, dried mixed fruit, and some yeasty notes. Can’t say I pick up much apple or pear in the flavor; the fruit is more like what you’d find in a trail mix. It’s a little heavy in the body, yet glides along nicely with just a touch of alcohol sting. Even as it warms close to room temp it remains smooth for a 10% beer. This is good. It’s like a solid American Belgian strong with a little barleywine in there.
