This Belgian-style dark ale is the culmination of central and western European malts, Noble hops, candy sugar and a traditional Trappist yeast. Notes of dried fruit, cinnamon and vanilla make DNR a very complex experience to be enjoyed in moderation.

From tap, pours a cloudy deep orange, very active, frothy head, insane lacing. Rich flavor, very impressive indeed. Filling for sure.

Draft at McNellie’s in downtown Tulsa. Pours a deep red-amber color with a small beige head. Aroma of banana, dried pit fruits, caramel malts, candi sugar, mild cinnamon and spice, bread, vanilla, and booze. Flavor of caramel malts, dried pit fruits, candi sugar, vanilla, clove, banana, bread, and booze. Medium-full bodied, with a malty mouthfeel and fairly low carbonation. Reminded me a lot of an Abbey Dubbel. Not quite what I’d call well-balanced, but still a complex, interesting beer.

On tap at Republic. Pours dark amber with small off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts, brown sugar, caramel and some light yeast. Flavors of brown sugar, dark malts, booze, and light yeast. Flavors did not remind me of a belgian strong ale. Could pass as a barley wine or old ale. Nice strong flavorful brew which is a rarity for an Oklahoman brew.

Hazy amber color/ off white lingering head. Big banana foster sweet spicy aromas. Smooth medium body. Big fruity yeasty estery flavors of bananas, apricots, apple skin, with a sharp spicy alcohol bite to finish. Great brew. @ Golden Dome OKC.

On tap T Pepe’s in Norman. Deep amber color with thin creme colored head. Light lacing. It smells of candied sugar, booze and spices. Nice yeast character. The flavor is right on for this Belgian. Delicious! Thank you Coop!

Pours a cloudy orange color. Aroma of dried fruit, cinnamon and vanilla. Can taste the alcohol but not very strong. Hint of banana flavor, with a bigger fruity taste. Nice aftertaste of pit fruits and caramel. One of my favorite beers. Had my first at Bolero in Oklahoma City.

Sampled at GABF 2009. Pale, golden pour. Aromas of Belgian yeast, bubblegum, and a hint of sour funkiness. Sweet flavor, lightly sour. Good overall.

Deep dark amber coloured body with a nice sized, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pit fruits, alcohol, caramel and a potent malt backbone. Full-bodied; Strong alcohol dominates the flavour up front with a pit fruit taste soon after and a very mild banana and clove taste soon afterwards. Aftertaste show some nice complexity to round out the taste, although a lot of pit fruits and caramel are still noticeable - along with the alcohol. The most prominent thing on the end is a fixation of pepper and vanilla, but those aren’t the most noticeable flavours. Overall, a nice attempt and a good beer to sample locally, but a bit too strong for a final beer - still good for others to sample though. I sampled this beer on draught at TapWerks in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 02-September-2009.
