COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crisp and clean, Horny Toad is a premium blonde ale with a hint of Noble hop bitterness to balance the two-row and pilsner malt body. This refreshing libation is a great introduction to craft beer and COOP Ale Works.

I avoided this one from COOP for a long, long time for reasons that seemed obvious. I was right. Drop this from your portfolio COOP!

An okay blonde wheat type beer. Very dry and bitter. You need a glad of water this one. Not much aroma and pours light yellow. Had in Oklahoma ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

No flavor. I would not serve this to my worst enemy!!! The aroma will make you noxious and the hang over from one is outrageous. This is a beer that you have to keep drinking if you donít want your head to start hurting.

Can shared with the group (early 2012). Pours a crystal clear golden color with a fizzy, medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy malts, bread, grass drying to hay with a splash of lemony citrus. Light, thin and not very exciting.

On tap at the Mule. Pours a near clear straw like yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has is overall mild with draw and earthy grains. Flavor has a touch of grass up front but is mainly full of straw and earthy grains.

Coops answer to bud light. On tap at the mule. Pours cloudy yellow with white head that doesnít last. Nose is Limey citrus and straw, thin. Taste is like bud light- loads of straw n earth. Blah. Fine for what it is but not a fan of this whole íchannelí of brews

From a can at a tasting. When trying this among other selections in the Coop lineup, this was pretty unremarkable. The noticeable hop presence elevates it above most pilsners, though. Fine for what it is, but not my style.

Can: † Straw, slight haze, thin white sudsy head, little lacing. † Grassy nose, smidgen of soil/earth maltiness. † Strong grassiness on the tongue, mealy, with a bit more hops than your average Pils. † Seems a little husky too. † Backside shows a bit of fruitiness, probably because of the amount of hops used. † Lingering grassiness, with some mealy notes. † Average body and mouthfeel. † Not bad, but more hoppy and mealy and not as crisp as I would have liked. † Thanks Bill!

I picked up a 4-pack of pint sized cans of this at Midtown Liquor for about six bucks. The pour is a yellow-gold with a good initial fluffy head that leaves spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is fairly generic but pleasant, with pils malt, straw, bread, light grass, and perhaps some grain too. The flavors continue with that; simple but overall pretty good. Thereís sweet bread and corn up front that give way to some bitter grassy hops. Easy drinking and clean enough. This isnít the greatest Pilsner in the world or anything but itís certainly much better than many of the low scores I see here. My opinion, of course. I enjoyed a couple of pints just fine while watching some NFL games today.

Pint can. Poured a not-so-attractive shade of bright golden with a short-lived white head.. a few bigger floaties in there. The aroma picked up wet grains, honey, and corn, with very light citrus accents.. as it warmed, it smelled more and more like it was underattenuated and not quite finished. The flavor found the same wet, underattenuated grains and some adjuncts at the core.. light sourness with similar character around.. finished overly sweet and odd, again like it wasnít quite done. Light-medium bodied and a touch slick through the palate.. more sour toward the back.. this just didnít come together. It wasnít offensive from a drinking perspective, but my problem was that it didnít feel done.
