COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial recipe begins with a big, rich stout packed with chocolate and coffee malts as well as oatmeal, and ends after a very generous hop addition. A portion of the brew was then aged in Bulleit Bourbon barrels and the remainder was aged in our cellar. Before sending out the 2009 vintage, the two were blended for the perfect winter warmer.

Bottle thanks to an OK bud. Poured black with Good light tn lace. Aroma is what I want in a BA stout. Huge soft vanilla aroma with charred oak. Light carb slightly thin bod. Taste similar to aroma with good roast vanilla. I was suprised.

"Um...yeahhhhhhhhh. To say this has a lot going on is an understatement, but Iím not sure how else to put it. This one caught me by surprise. Part of a trade with Hannah that kept getting put in the back row...finally tried it, and soooo glad I did. I read somewhere this is buliet bourbon (kind of a cheap brand) but that could vary year to year. This was 2012 I think. If it was or wasnít, the short term barreling was done to perfection...highlighting the barrel without covering up the beer. Aroma of coffee, smoke. whiskey, malted chocolate, light hops, lots of roast. Flavor similar, smooth thick feel perfectly carbonated. REALLY liked this one. Thanks Hannah. COOP wonít catch me off guard again. Maybe Iíll get to try the Territorial Barleywine one day. ;)"

On tap at Boulder Strong Ale Fest (2014). Pour is deep black with a frothy tan head and good lacing. Vanilla, roasted malt, light cocoa, bread, caramelly, and woody aroma. Taste is espresso, bourbon, toffee, caramel, cocoa nibs, light alcohol, and oak. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Really smooth and delicious.

Bottle @ tasting, courtesy of me! Thnx to flunkminnow for shipping me this! Pours a pitch black beer with a thin, beige head on top. Aroma is oaky, licorice, slight chocolate and has some vineous characters in there as well. Flavor is quite sweet with some bourbon oak, chocolate and again those vineous characters going on. Really interesting beer, combo between bourbon, beer and wine. It worked out really nice!

Bottle shared by MrHangover. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized light brown head. Smell amd taste malts, roastyness, liquor, a touch of wine and oak wood. Nice stuff! Maybe a bit highly carbonated but surely nice.

Bomber. The beer pours to a deep black color with a large tan head. The aroma has a pretty strong whisky smell to it with hints of chocolate & dark fruits. The taste is more subtle than the aroma would make you think with a nice smooth well balance flavor full of cocoa, chocolate & some mild whisky in the background. Overall this is a great Imperial Stout for my taste. Very easy to drink.
