COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Since 1862 the coopers family have pursued excellence in brewing. It’s with this passion we’ve created a pilsner using the very finest ingredients.

Pours ligt golden with fluffy white head. Good lacing. Yeasty and sweet. Easy drinking, not much after. Not too strong or bitter. Had at Melbourne airport. 355 ml bottle.

355ml bottle. Actually rather good. I was expecting diappointment. As a fan of both proper Czech pilsners and proper top-fermented Coopers, I was expecting some sort of weak-willed halfway effort on both parts. However, this is surprisingly good. Nice initial Saaz bitterness - it opens just like a real pilsner should. The finish is crisp and bitter. A very rewarding lager, just in time for the Australian summer.

Over all a bit of a let down from one of my favourite brewing companies. Not much of a distinct pilsner taste going on. Bit watery as well. Not all completely bad though. Has a great appearance and aroma and does have a nice finish.

No strong aroma. It has a pale golden clear colour. Taste is well balanced.

I’m surprised this gets such a low rating. I actually don’t mind this pils at all. Coopers generally don’t do a bad beer (besides coopers clear). I find this solid all round

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2011 Geez it’s not thatttt bad...Nice sweet floral nose. In the mouth it’s a bit over carbonated but I would rather drink this than most macro beers. Decent.

Pale golden body with lasting white head and some rings of lacing. Notes of Saaz on the aroma and that follows through in the taste, a little sweet and some grains. Probably a fraction better than a pale lager though wouldn’t say it is a worthy pilsener nor a premium lager.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2010 Bottle. Surprisingly ok. Trying it because the bottle shop selection was pretty thin, but this is quite a nice, hoppy and refreshing, but overly sweet. Did manage to remind me of Czech.

Bottle. Pours a pale straw colour with a fluffy white head that fades quickly. Aroma is unexciting with wheat and grassy overtones. Flavour is fairly similar, standard pilsener, grains with a little hop bitterness. I also agree with Luke: Coopers ales are always so much better than their lagers, pilseners, etc. Still this is not unpleasant, just kinda boring.

Apearance to style.Clean, simple pilsner. Wouldnt buy another one. Coopers Red any time. Bad for all Coopers fans.
