Now here’s a beer with punch. Coopers Stout is a beacon for lovers of a hearty brew. With its robust flavour comprising a blend of fruit, chocolate and hop bitter notes it’s everything a stout should be. Brewed naturally using a top fermentation method, Coopers Stout’s unique rich, dark texture comes from specially roasted black malt.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2003 Cloudy dark brown. Thin but persistent head. Dark, fruity aroma. Roasy flavor with hints of chocolate. Deep bitter finish. Nice.

Nice black pour with a lively tan head. Good middle of the road stout. All the things I look for such as a good dark roasted nose, hints of coffee and bitter chocolate but a little thin and nothing stands out. Lacking assertiveness I guess.

I thought very highly of this. Decent palate, pours thick with a bit of head, although perhaps a touch overcarbonated. Good well-rounded flavors, roasted and aromatic. Slightly undercut by a curious thin-ness, but a satisfying stout.

Dark Black Color. Medium head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts and bananas (?). A medium bodied stout. Roasted malts are balanced by a very surprising fruitiness. A touch of banana and vanilla. Nicely balanced. A very drinkable milder stout. Nice. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bottle. Black color with a brown head. A strong roasted aroma. A dry yeasty roasted coffee with a hint of fruit.

Dark red/black with dark tan head. Smells of roasted barley, chocolate and molasses. Very nice dark malt taste with notes of coffee, raisin and molasses. My only complaint is that it's a bit thin, but the taste makes up for that.

dark brown with a small brown head, nice roasty aroma. taste is of toasted malt and coffee, with a slight hint of plum. Thin and slightly watery, but still quite good.

Nice color but a fairly thin head (as stouts go). Good aroma...not too strong, but not lacking character. The flavor is very nice. Surprisingly smooth and a nice balance between in mouth taste and aftertaste. I've only managed (as of yet) to have three Cooper's brews, and this one is by FAR the best of them. A good stout, by any account.

Watery-smokey aroma. Malt flavor is not much more that a faint bit of smoke, a whiff of roastiness with no lingering taste or flavor. Forgettable.
