Now here’s a beer with punch. Coopers Stout is a beacon for lovers of a hearty brew. With its robust flavour comprising a blend of fruit, chocolate and hop bitter notes it’s everything a stout should be. Brewed naturally using a top fermentation method, Coopers Stout’s unique rich, dark texture comes from specially roasted black malt.

08.20.04 12.7oz bottle. The pour is dark, almost black, and thick looking; slight head; no lace. Aromas are sweet, molasses, choco-coffee-roasty. Palate is oily, kind of tarry like really old coffee. Nice bitterness on finish. Pretty big yeast presence with notes of banana, and rum. Maybe more sourness than I’d like, but really very enjoyable overall. Leaves a roasty, coffee aftertaste and a fuzzy mouthfeel. A good find in RI.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2008 Bottle@Home, Mar 08, 3.6: Ok, now I’m more experienced I decided to re-rate. Still very nice but not deserving the high score I gave it before. Bottle@Home, Aug 04, 4.2: Yeasty aroma with chocolat malts and coffee when it warms. Black color, thick brown head, very good lace. Light sweet, lots of chocolat and coffee, malty, alcohol hidden, bit dusty, thick body. I love this one!

Pours black and has a small head that is normal for the style. Fairly thin in body and taste. Has a slight roasted character with some coffee. Decent, but nothing impressive.

Very dark, smooth pour(from bottle) with minimal head. Not as thick as most stouts. Great coffee, malt taste a littl ebit woody, but not at all unpleasent.

A great way to spend a cold winters day ! Burnt caramel flavor makes this a treat, and the longevity once in a glass is first class.

Opaque black, light brown head. Caramel and fruity fill the aroma, banana and dark fruit, toasty malt and a little choc apparent. Flavour is of sweet maltyness, burnt grain and toast, salty and oily, with a little roasted, espresso bitterness.
