Now here’s a beer with punch. Coopers Stout is a beacon for lovers of a hearty brew. With its robust flavour comprising a blend of fruit, chocolate and hop bitter notes it’s everything a stout should be. Brewed naturally using a top fermentation method, Coopers Stout’s unique rich, dark texture comes from specially roasted black malt.

Bottle. Pours black with a thin head that becomes a film within one minute. Sweet aromas of coffee and dark fruits. Fairly underwhelming. Very dry mouthfeel. Proper carbonation. Flavours are bitter cocoa and maybe something resembling ashtray. Overall not bad but nothing outstanding.

Pours dark with tan head. Somehow thin body. Chocolate and malt in the aroma and the taste. Not so impressive.

Bottle from Beer Express. BB 10/10/2016. Pours black with a Cola hue, the tan head disappears fast. The aroma starts with roasted malts and black forest berries - too modest unfortunately, must wait until it’s warm. Later I get some more pungent, hoppier notes. Pleasant mild smokiness in flavour, plus strong roasted malts, and quite some bitterness in the finish. Rather active carbonation, helps take the edge off the roast. Full in the mouth, smooth texture. Very nice, I really like it. Too bad about the somewhat subdued aroma - luckily, the taste makes up for it.

Marrom escura, opaca.

Durchschnittlich rezent, schlank, trocken, Stout-typische „Asche“. Im Abgang kräftige Bittere von Röstmalz, weniger von Hopfen. - Schönes Stout, schlank und trocken aber kernig.

Found notes from my 2009 trip to Australia. Has several of these, always bottle to glass or drank from the bottle. Thick black color. Creamy feel. Toasted malt.

375ml bottle into a washington glass. Big aroma of chocolate, malts, caramel and slightly burnt brown sugar. Taste is the same but subdued compared to the aroma. Look is what you’d expect - dark, tan head, but not thick and doesn’t last. Definitely a lingering burnt / bitter flavour but mild which detracts ever so slightly from my enjoyment of this beer. Good solid stout, predictable in it’s style. Nothing wrong with it - just not my favourite style.

375ml bottle. Pours black with a frothy brown head. Strong aromas of chocolate, caramel and roasted malt, light aroma of coffee. Good balance between sweet and bitter, with a dry coffee-like finish. A fine, reliable stout overall.
