2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Old style stout that delivers an authentic experience. The rough dark chocolate taste with a rolling caramel aftertaste grows as it warms, so don't drink it too quickly.

No head, aroma of burnt cereal and carsmel, the level of caramel is like in a dark lager which leaves an unpleasant impression, not so mich going on apart from burnt cereal and caramel, no cocoa or coffe, no stout body, just caramelly burnt malts, a dissapointment

Dark black. No head. Quite charred, to the point of smokey. bitter. cola. Cocoa Nibs. Not balanced, almost too much burnt toast. Very dry. Thx Seymour for leaving this behind.

375ml bottle from Systembolaget. Deep ruby / dark brown, medium size tan head that leaves good lacing. Roasted barley aroma, coffee, chocolate, fudge and smoky notes. Very smooth but light mouthfeel, medium carbonated. The taste is like the aroma, roasted barley, coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, licorice and pumpernickel. Chalky dry finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle into a tall tulip glass, an opaque dark reddish brown colour with beige, short-lived foam, no lace. A true-to-style foreign extra stout, roasty, nutty, definite fruity ale esters, unmistakable earthy and woodsy Pride of Ringwood yeast. Subtly rich caramel flavour in the middle but finishes dry. Above average carbonation, but not overly gassy. Medium body, well-rounded mouthfeel, smooth alcohol. The live yeast bottle-conditioning aspects are noticeable and beneficial. I don’t know if this is considered mass-produced, but it’s gotta be close, and distributed world-wide...even so, this is a uniquely delicious and nuanced stout. Very tasty, eminently drinkable.

Bottiglia 37 cl. Nera con schiuma beige non troppo abbondante. Al naso aroma di cacao, caffè e malto torrefatto. Idem in bocca dove è più percepibile il cioccolato fondente. Bassa carbonazione. Molto buona.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

From Festival de las Naciones. In Teku glass. At dinner, with sausages + cheesr sandwich. Good stout. Although the look isnt pretty (little foam), its amazing in nose and the taste is good enough. Texture maybe is a bit lighter than desiderable
