COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Now here’s a beer with punch. Coopers Stout is a beacon for lovers of a hearty brew. With its robust flavour comprising a blend of fruit, chocolate and hop bitter notes it’s everything a stout should be. Brewed naturally using a top fermentation method, Coopers Stout’s unique rich, dark texture comes from specially roasted black malt.

Bottle at brew, bangkok. Deep black color, small light brown head. Alcoholic aroma with some licorice, not very nice. Taste is pretty nice, licorice, roasted malts, little alcohol, finish little watery.

Bottle from Plonk. Pours rich brown-black with small bubbly tan head. Aroma has dark roast, hint of chocolate, and some alcohol. Dry finish, with dark malt astringent/acidic finish that I’d prefer to be absent. medium carbonation, medium body. Overall a nice, very drinkable extra stout. One of the best coopers beers.

Pours a clear, near black dark brown with little head. Aromas of chocolate, dark berries, and licorice. Flavours bring honey, chocolate, and berry juice. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel.

Solid stoute. Nice deep dark color . Minimal head. Nose is chocolate and dark malt. Taste is dry, bitter, dark chocolate with dark malts and black coffee. It is a fine stoute which at 6.3% should be consumed slowly at the right temperature.

Nice deep dark color with some yeast in the bottom, very thin head. Nose dark chocolate and some fruit. Medium bodied, not too high in carbonation. Slightly bitter dry. Taste chocolate, black coffee, roasted almonds, caramel, little alcohol. Nice aftertaste with dark chocolate and coffee. Nicely balanced.

Negra opaca. Potente.

nuts, roasty, coffee, almost floral hop notes as the beer warmed. Not extremely chewy or full bodied, more sessionable. Carried a nice flavour through the beer and never got heavy. But once it started to go flat, then it lost a lot of the appeal. It just thinned out and became a little wattery. Still a very good beer for the money. Would recommend.

First impression is of the classic 70’s desert - Black Forest Gateaux. Which is a good thing. Shiny black, initially with a cappuccino coloured head but only for the first few seconds. I really do get black cherry, chocolate and cream, though with the sponge cake soaked in sherry and a touch of licquorice in there too. Extra points for nostalgia, but I don’t care - I like it!

I did not expect much, but it a very well made stout actually. Looks are spot on with very dark body and creamy tanned head. Lots of roast, although admitedly a bit grainy. Certainly not sweet though. So yeah, a successful although very classicly styled stout. I enjoyed it. (Bottle from Saveur Bière)

Thin head, nose is sweet, chocolate and fruit, taste is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and slight fruit at the end. Mouthfeel is substantial but not overwhelming. It’s solid dark angry beer.
