Now here’s a beer with punch. Coopers Stout is a beacon for lovers of a hearty brew. With its robust flavour comprising a blend of fruit, chocolate and hop bitter notes it’s everything a stout should be. Brewed naturally using a top fermentation method, Coopers Stout’s unique rich, dark texture comes from specially roasted black malt.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with a lot of carbonated bubbles that suspend in the beer. For someone like me who is not a fan I stouts I was pleasantly surprised. Not as dry as normal stouts with a crisp finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

375 ml bottle into pint glass, best after 4/21/2014. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy dark brown head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, raisin, plum, light smoke, light herbal, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt and fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, raisin, plum, light smoke/char, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, raisin, plum, herbal, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness, balance, and complexity of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy, smooth, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent foreign stout style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth to drink with a great creamy mouthfeel. A very enjoyable offering.

O corpo é leve e a cerveja é refrescante, caindo bem tanto no inverno quanto no verão. Boa para acompanhar carnes, a drinkability é boa e o aftertaste é suave, mais amigável do que o sabor proporcionado no primeiro momento. O pálato é pouco envolvente. Uma boa stout, porém simples e pouco complexa.

Czarne piwo z beżową, obitą, puszystą i sztywną pianą oraz przyjemnym, lekko słodowym, trochę kawowym, palonym aromatem. W smaku gęste i kremowe, początkowo lekko słodowe, następnie wytrawne z posmakami kawy zbożowej i gorzkiej czekolady.

Creamy vanilla and black licorice aroma.Black color with an off tan, but lively head. relatively mellow compared to how it smells. Cola start with some slight creaminess in the middle, then a bitter dry finish. Not bad.

750ml bottle pours a black color without much head. Medium bitterness a little harsh and lingers after. Overpowers the malt.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer is nearly black colored a pours a large cream colored head, with a average carbonation. In the aroma a nice palate of cacao, bitter chocolate, roasted malts, hop notes and some dark fruits in the background. The taste is full bodied, to start with the sweetness of dark fruits, to end in a nice a pleasant bitterness from the cacao and bitter chocolate. The finish is dry and light bitter which is very pleasant.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 13D). Bootle 37,5 cl - batch unknown. AROMA: moderate roasted aromas of coffe and cocoa. slight sweet background aroma with some vinous notes. no hop aromas and some very faint diacetyl. APPEARANCE: deep dark brown color and opaque. average light brown head with good retention. TASTE: moderate roasted grains flavour with notes of coffe and cocoa. low bitterness with an almost dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with average carbonation. OVERALL: a commercial stout with good aromas and flavours that would benefit from a fuller body.

Nose is chocolate, coffee, plum pudding. A black hole of a beer, no light escapes. It makes the room darker. Light brown head turning to soapy film. Taste is zingy on the tongue, body is quite light (Australian stouts tend to be light bodied). Aftertaste is dark chocolate leading to lingering hop bitterness. Really good. At 6.3% hides it well. You could drink these like lagers then have a little sleep. Goodnight...........
