Now here’s a beer with punch. Coopers Stout is a beacon for lovers of a hearty brew. With its robust flavour comprising a blend of fruit, chocolate and hop bitter notes it’s everything a stout should be. Brewed naturally using a top fermentation method, Coopers Stout’s unique rich, dark texture comes from specially roasted black malt.

smell is dark roasted grain, a tiny bit of fruity hops, a bit of dark chocolate. opaque, dark dark brown colour with minimal head. tastes chocolatey up front, herbal, fine hoppiness and chocolate at the end. body is well carbonated, and not very heavy. this time around was better than the time i had it before, a lot of good flavour in it, ill pick it up when i find it in the future

First impression is of the classic 70’s desert - Black Forest Gateaux. Which is a good thing. Shiny black, initially with a cappuccino coloured head but only for the first few seconds. I really do get black cherry, chocolate and cream, though with the sponge cake soaked in sherry and a touch of licquorice in there too. Extra points for nostalgia, but I don’t care - I like it!

I did not expect much, but it a very well made stout actually. Looks are spot on with very dark body and creamy tanned head. Lots of roast, although admitedly a bit grainy. Certainly not sweet though. So yeah, a successful although very classicly styled stout. I enjoyed it. (Bottle from Saveur Bière)

Thin head, nose is sweet, chocolate and fruit, taste is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and slight fruit at the end. Mouthfeel is substantial but not overwhelming. It’s solid dark angry beer.

750ml bottle from supermarket. Pours opaque black with thin khaki head which quickly dissipates. Underwhelming nose has plum/fig fruitiness and subtle chocolate/coffee maltiness. Taste is fairly similar to Guinness- what I call a ’light’ stout. Mild bitterness, licorice and dark fruit, with the hops allowed more breathing room due to the reduced strength of the malt characters. Quite light and sessionable for a stout, basically met my expectations for this beer.

Bottle. Clean dark brown-red with an ample beige head. Aroma is full of dark chocolate with some hoppier and fruitier notes, too. Taste is overwhelmingly baker’s chocolate, with some coffee and malt notes and a fairly dry finish. Moderate body. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Black beer, small beige head. Nose is chocolate and coffee notes, malt. Flavor is mild roast and chocolate with coffee, some fruity notes. Feels somewhat flat and one-sided, but not exactly bad.
