COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Now here’s a beer with punch. Coopers Stout is a beacon for lovers of a hearty brew. With its robust flavour comprising a blend of fruit, chocolate and hop bitter notes it’s everything a stout should be. Brewed naturally using a top fermentation method, Coopers Stout’s unique rich, dark texture comes from specially roasted black malt.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2004 I think this is the first twist-off bottle I've rated. Beer pours (in Chimay glass) a pitch black liquid light can not penetrate with a generous amount of caramel colored head that collapses, but lingers. Aroma is of plum, chocolate, raisin, molasses, sweet. Flavor is very complex, but gives hints of its character including a potent and deeply rich, lightly burned coffee. A closer inspection reveals an ever so slight hoppy character that can easily be bypassed by quaffing mouthfuls. Outstanding brew - I mean WOW. A slight hop is its only flaw. Must have again. Sampled at 72 degrees Fahrenheit.

Bottle; poured a black color with a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, and some cocoa. Straightforward but good aroma. Very roasted flavor, almost a bit burnt. A touch of sweetness, caramel, and dark cocoa. A solid brew.

375ml bottle, poured into my favourite beer glass, the snifter, pitch black colour, aromas of coffee and chocolate with a lovely beige head, the taste reminds me of a imperial stout, coopers make good beers but this one is their finest

Pours black with a quite little and thin white head. Aroma is very roasty and rich; it has notable elements of coffee, licorice and chocolate - malts dominate. Taste is dryish and very roasty and heavily malty. Flavours include especially coffee. Palate is medium to full bodied, sticky; the carbonation flat. Rich taste and a full, enjoyable palate - you can’t ask much more from a stout.
