beerbill (1162), Laurel, New York, USA Sep 30, 2006 22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown with a moderate off-white head that disappeared soon after the first sip. Trace aroma of chocolate and malt. Flavor was almost nonexistent except for a touch of malt and a barely noticable hops finish. As the beer warmed, the hops bitterness became more pronounced but the flavor remianed nearly hidden. Very thin, watery mouthfeel. I drank about half of this bottle and unfortunately poured the rest down the drain. jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Aug 15, 2006 on tap-pours a light tan head with bronze color. Distinctive Coopers Cave aroma(Northdown and Kent Golding from their pamphlet) with some slight chocolate. Taste is mainly roasted malts with a slightly bitter/hops bite finish. gws57 (951), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Aug 9, 2005 Had this one on draught in Glens Falls, New York. Of the Cooper’s I tried the other night, I liked this one the least. Nice orange-brown color, not much nose, plenty of malted milk balls and bitter chocolate in the nose, but actually kind of bland. Lubiere (3146), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 14, 2004 Brown ale with very light malt aroma, full of DMS , very sweet and somewhat lactic.
