beerbill (1267), Laurel, New York, USA Sep 29, 2006 22 oz. bottle. Poured a nearly opaque brown/black with a tan head that quickly disappeared. Pleasant aroma of chocolate and malt was the highlight of this beer. The initial flavor of this beer was very light chocolate with a hoppy dry finish. As the beer warmed, the chocolate faded and was replaced with an odd tobacco flavor. Also a bit thin for a porter. dirtymike (2019), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Mar 16, 2005 Dark brown/black in color with a thick tan head. Aroma is of alcohol/bug spray/plastic. Spicy, roasted malt, medicinal character, malty and chocolatey with a dry finish. Volgon (2458), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Dec 16, 2004 Bottle: Clear deep ruby with a small tan head, chocolate nose, starts and ends lightly sweet. Odd taste at the end distracts a bit from the beer. Lubiere (3250), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 14, 2004 April 2004. Opaque dark beer with a ligth chocolate malt aroma. Bitter chocolate and fruity porter, medium bodied. MartinT (4330), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 29, 2004 Fresh cream over near-coffee beans...Almond skin topping and roasted dryness...Intense bitterness in the back for this, one of their most interesting offerings...
