COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The flavour lies somewhere between our Sparkling Ale and Stout but the texture and appearance is less syrupy and cleaner. Coopers Dark Ale is top fermented in the traditional manner. A combination of dark and medium-roasted malt produces this rich, flavoursome brew that's especially satisfying in nippy weather.

Dark brown in colour with a thin pale tan head. Small bits of sediment noticed. Thin to medium bodied with average to high carbonation. Weak coffee aroma and also a weak coffee/malt taste apparent in the flavour. Finish, short and dry, slightly bitter, the coffee also comes comes through slightly. Rather weak and watery but not bad. - (375ml brown glass bottle)

375 ml bottle - Dark cloudy brown A light tan head which dies back fairly quickly. Thin bodied, medium carbonation and slightly effervescent on the tongue. Sweet roast malt flavours and slightly nutty. A dry, short finish.

Nice colour, but no head whatsoever. Aroma and flavour reminded me of couple of coopers hombrews. Lots of malt flavours, but not much hops to speak of. Pretty thin on body too. Two was one too many.

375 mL. Mahogany, nearly translucent, with lots of yeast flotsam and a large head that lasts. Aroma is brown sugar on crackers, with a little spice. Dryish flavor mimics, with some darkish fruit flavors. Some metallic hop and acidic flavors give a little zest. Palate is smooth, medium-bodied and kind of watery on the end. A slightly above average brown.

Pretty decent aroma. Not much hops but fresh. Definitely a brown ale in flavor, this is light and crisp and almost too nutty for me, bur in the end I liked it.

Pours dark with a thin fizzy head. Aroma of molasses, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste follows aroma. Balanced finish, easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours cloudy brown with serious floaties and a thin whitish head. The aroma is slight molasses, sour berries, wood, mild yeastiness. The flavor is sourdough and juniper (!?); little bit of molasses syrup, cedar, white raisins, sweet waffle-like aftertaste.

Pours dark with very little head that disappears right away. Little to no aromas but there is a hint of coffe and malt. When you take your first sip, don’t blink, you might miss the flavor. A quick hint of coffee hits the palate and then nothing. The thinness disapates quickly in your mouth with a dry finish and nothing. Almost like you didn’t drink anything. Definately not a fan.
