Bottle. Opaque dark brown with a large beige head. Aroma of dark fruits and malts with some chocolate. Very thin mouthfeel; doesn’t really give the flavours the best chance, needs more alcohol to boot. Sweet, light caramel, light roast malts, light bitterness in the finish.

Low head, a lot of sediment. Pleasant malt aroma, but taste lacks complexity. Easy drinking, but not exciting at all

Sweet burnt malt aroma. Dark brown colour with poor head and lacing. Bitter burnt malt flavour. Fizzy palate.

11 Nov 05 - Slight fruit roast malt aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour, lowish head and low suds lacing. Pleasant malt hop flavour with a bit of caramel. A bit thin, with a roast finish. Overall it lacks complexity but is pleasant, it is an easy drinking beer.

Pours with a frothy, thin, quickly disappearing pale amber-brown colored head. The beer is a deep brown, almost black color and shows a brilliantly clear brown hue when held up to the light. The aroma is a mix of lightly roasted notes, almost a candy sweet note of caramel & toffee, which tends to meld into and accentuate a light chocolate note. The aroma is much more characterful and interesting than I was expecting.

The taste is pretty dry up front, and in fact throughout. There is a touch of caramel-like sweetness, but this beer remains light on the palate throughout. The finish is sharp with a bit of hop-bitterness and a lingering note of roasted coffee beans. The roasted coffee notes lightly dust the entire flavor of this brew. All in all each of the flavors in this brew are fairly light. This is not a brew that demands your attention, instead it is an easily quaffed brew. Nice and easy drinking, with just enough flavor to keep it interesting.

This beer pours a mahogany brown to reddish color with a thin tanned head which dissipates almost immediately leaving a small ring around the sides of the glass and a small layer of floaties at the bottom of the glass. The aroma is almost all peanuts with a hint of malt and grains. Flavor-wise this is a major disappointment...weak weak weak. Cardboardy, malty in a very weak way..no nut or spice presence of any kind. Its like drinking watered down chocolate or poor coffee beans. Fairly unpleasant and uninterestingly dry finish yet fairly active carbonation. Silky mouthfeel but annoyingly acetic. Impressively vile.

Dark brown opaque color, with a thinlight brown head, but very little aroma. Light malty, slightly chocolate taste. Some sediment was left on the bottom of the glass.

Nice head that stays around a long time. Some sediment but I like that. Not a lot of aroma and has a very mild choclatey/coffee/roasted flavor. Not a strong enough flavor for me.
