COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The flavour lies somewhere between our Sparkling Ale and Stout but the texture and appearance is less syrupy and cleaner. Coopers Dark Ale is top fermented in the traditional manner. A combination of dark and medium-roasted malt produces this rich, flavoursome brew that's especially satisfying in nippy weather.

bottle at cropredy 2007 ... deep black ... blackcurrent and chocolate nose ... bit too fizzy, well way to fizzy i stirred it till it went flat ...complex ... sweet smooth roast malts ... This to me is what a mild should be all be a bit too high in alchohol.

Dark brown color, very cloudy. Blackcurrant and chocolate in the aroma and flavor. Thin. Short aftertaste. Just a hint of tartness. Nice session ale.

Nutty brown ale aroma. Maybe a hint of raisin and chocolate. Dark cloudy brown with small golden bits (it’s bottle conditioned). Chocolaty flavor, some malt, some hop. Tiny bubbles, but a bit thin. Finishes a bit dry, with a hint of sour, then the chocolate returns. Really pleasant, and not at all harsh like most American browns.

A Mes rate: bottle from Kris Wines.
Dark brown coloured with a thin beige head. Sweet malty aroma with a fair bit of caramel and some faint dusty hops. Tangy malt and fizzy almost alka seltzer flavour. Toffee and nutty in the finish. A little too thin and the flavour fall away a bit because of it. Drinkable but not something I would rave over.

375 ml bottle. Dark brown beer with a thin white head. Light yeasty aroma and a bit of pale malt. Fruity yeast shows through along with some toasted malts. Light caramel. Tastes better than it smells.

Bottled. Adark brown coloured beer with no head. The aroma has a little chocloate and a tiny amount of roastiness. The taste is quite dry and a bit of caramel comes through, but otherwise there’s not much going on. Disappointing really.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours with a fading off-white head over a deep brown body. Aroma of berries, chocolate and honey. Taste is jam, chocolate and dry. A bit flowery. Medium carbonation. Not memorable.

Typical nose of a brown ale: maple, vanilla, some cream. Fizzy and not a very deep flavor profile... fizzy toasted nuts and bread crust. Pancakes and milk. Not exciting at all.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are sweet earthy coffee with chocolate and some sulphur. Flavours are sweet cola with hints of lemon. Light roast character and not especially malty.

10th December 2008. Cloudy brown beer. Low carbonation. Crisp palate. Very mildy sour malt. Okay but a bit watery.
