3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Catadobe (112) - - SEP 5, 2003A very safe traditional Australian tasting stout. Hard to split the differance from Carlton Black to Abbotsford Stout. As usual a quality product from Coopers Brewery
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 StuffWine (80) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 8, 2013
Poured a dark hazy brown with short lasting tan head. Aroma of light malt and a touch of toffee. Taste of wheat, brown bread, and a hint of yeast sourness. Moderate body, a little watery on palate, moderately long soft bitter finish. A good sessional beer when lager is just too boring.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mickash (15) - - MAY 20, 2013
As far as commercial Aussie dark beers go, this is a solid drop. Nice dark rich color, pleasant drinking and a clean, soft taste. Perfect as a session beer on a winters evening down the pub....

A normal beer. I was able to feel a little taste of coffee at the aftertaste.

Dark in colour but lacks character. Easy to drink but not to be savoured. Mild taste with some sediment.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 LesArgen (135) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 6, 2012
The aroma is predominantly biscuit and caramel and suggests a full, thick beer. Unfortunately it doesn’t follow through in the tasting, leaving a mostly watery taste in the mouth with just a little cocoa and caramel.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20 Neptunius777 (37) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 29, 2012
375 mL bottle. Poured into craft beer glass. Black, syrupy body. Robust texture. Metallic, woody aroma. Thin head, dissipating quickly. Taste was bitter, chocolaty, but thin. Very little aftertaste. Not in the style of an irish beer, and characteristically thin overall. Not a bad drop
