2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 Davros (919) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 24, 2010
Pours amber with a small creamy head.
Nose is faint but includes some cardboard-like malt with a little toffee. Fruity Coopers yeast also noticeable.
Flavours follow along the same lines but also include some traditional grainy Aussie malt and metallic Pride of Ringwood hops. Seems to be lacking in any backbone.
Body is ridiculously watery.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 ComradeK (466) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - JUN 20, 2010
375ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold, with floating yeast, courtesy of its bottle fermented and unfiltered nature. It has a small head, which quickly fades, and leaves no lacing whatsoever. There is a weak, grassy hops aroma, with a very slight hint of banana. The initial hops flavour is quite mild, and fades quickly, revealing a real lack of structure and body. The remainder of the beer is watery and insipid, with only a slight hint of hops and alcohol at the end as a reminder that this is not in fact water. Boring and disappointing.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 hawthorne00 (1307) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 9, 2010
Bottle. Cloudy orange, fading off-white head. Mild sour wheaty aroma with some weeds (dandelion leaves). There’s a tiny bit of citric sourness but the taste is mainly bland sweetness. Fizzy mouthfeel helps the watery mouthfeel a bit. Gentle but agreeably dry finish. I suppose this is a mid-strength golden ale rather than a mild, but there you go. A good choice if you have to drive - there’s some character here at least.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Geiserich (2278) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - MAR 13, 2010
Hazy yellow color, white head. Light yeasty aroma with hints of gras and grain. Flavor is light bodied, light sourly and yeasty. Some notes of grain and a shy bitterness. Dry finish. Bit tasteless.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 OSLO (1084) - Ames, Iowa, USA - AUG 29, 2009
[Can] Pours hazy pale golden with a good white head that diminishes after a short time. Aroma is not that good. Dusty, metallic, light maltiness. Taste is almost like nothing is there--sparkling water mixed with a dash of bland pale beer. The malt and some light bitterness do come out a bit as it warms, but still this is just...yeah. I guess it isn’t offensive, so things are looking up. Thin, shortish finish. Wow, I thought that following the trainwreck that is Southwark Bitter could have led to an inflated score, but no. I will probably be able to at least finish this one, but it is still really, really not good. I guess my attempt at style ticking succeded on this one, but having to subject myself to these last two beers has made it not worth it at all. I am going to go dig up some backlogged notes so that I can think of better beers.

Had this one during my holiday in Australia april/may 2009. Golden colored brew. Light brew. Malty, mildly hopped.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 angryrobot (31) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 2, 2009
375ml bottle from Dan Murphy’s. Pours a cloudy pale orange, with small, quickly subsiding head. Little aroma of hops. Bitter Flavour, with a bit of Bready malt thrown in. Watery mouthfeel. A disappointment from coopers.
(if curious i reckon this beer could be roughly recreated at home by mixing 2/3 coopers pale and 1/3 water.)
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 mkel07 (1556) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - APR 26, 2009
375ml bottle. One of the more disappointing beers from Coopers. Poured a golden amber and sparkling colour with a clear and well carbonated body and a reasonable white head. Turns cloudy as the last of the bottle is poured. Mild hop aroma with a medium bitterness and flavour.
