COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale is the product of brewing with a selection of barley and wheat malt, and with no added sugar. This traditional brewing approach provides the smooth malt character which is balanced by a triple hopping of the brew with Pride of Ringwood and Saaz hops. The brew has fermented similarly to its stablemates Pale and Sparkling Ale, with the customary secondary fermentation in the bottle and can.

Draught. A pale straw with a thin white head. A light earthy malt on the nose. A hint of milk chocolate in the malty palate. Finish is a bit grainy and metallic.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2012 Bottle. I thought mild was a reference to the low ABV, this tasted like an inoffensive golden ale to me. Pale gold with plenty of fizz, a touch of sweet malts and bitter finish. Forgettable.

Reminds me of Pale Ale, maybe call it Pale Ale Light? Has more subdued flavours, and a little thin on the back palate to make it an interesting beer.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Has a little character compared to most milds/mid-strengths. In saying that, Roger’s is still the top mid in Australia

Another coopers ale i thoroughly enjoy. for a mild ale it has a huge amount of flavour and a nice finish. Good amount of aroma too. Highly recommend.

Bottle. Red-gold hazy body, sparse white head. Aroma-taste: tropical fruit; soda water, carmel/biscuit. Very thin, dry, light carbonation. Too much like water for my liking.

I dunno Coopers, I guess there is a market for this kind of beer but surely it is full of bland pale lagers and doesn’t really need another entry in the race to the bottom. This is pretty much a watered down version of the Pale Ale, better clarity, lighter finish. Does the job, but little more.

Bottle. Hazy pale golden orange pour with a loose, rocky white head that quickly disappears. Weak aroma has hints of grain, apples, grass and cardboard. Flavour isn’t much bigger than the aroma: watery and minerally, there are subtle hints of grain, apples and cardboard. Watery but dry mouthfeel with high carbonation and a subtle hint of bitterness on the finish. A lot like mineral water, there isn’t anything particularly offensive about this beer but there isn’t much to recommend about it either.

375mL twistop bottle. Gave it a good roll before serving, so I’m presented with a hazy orange beer with white foam and the odd floating yeastie. Body is relatively full for a mid-strength, leesy unfiltered texture with medium carbonation. Bread crust maltiness, bit of light caramel sweetness with those pear-like esters you get from the Coopers yeast. Metallic sort of finish, drying with a moderate bitterness. A step down from the Pale Ale in flavour. Good mid-strength alternative, but at 1% less than the PA at pretty much the same price, I start to wonder why.

Bottle. Straw colour, thin head. Mettalic grassy hop aroma. Thin, watery and fizzy. Unpleasant taste - watery with a harsh finish. A shockingly bad beer from an otherwise competent brewery.

Bottle. Surprised I hadn’t tried this one previously. Pours a hazy light golden brown with decent white head. Head falls away very quickly leaving no lacing. Aroma is almost non existent but there are some grassy hops there. Little else. Flavours wise much the same. Some initial hop bitterness but this seems to fade. Highly carbonated which I think really detracts from the beer. Mouthfeel is quite watery. Not something I will try again in a hurry.
