"With its fruity character, and robust flavour, Coopers Pale Ale is perfect for every occasion. Naturally fermented in the 'Burton-on-Trent' style, a secondary fermentation creates the trademark sediment that gives 'Pale' its fine cloudy appearance. This cloudy residue can be stirred through the beer by tipping or rolling the bottle before drinking."

Pours murky copper to light brown. Almost no head. Subtle fruity aroma. Taste is citrus with some herbal notes and a bit sourness at the end. A bit overcarbonated. Not the greatest beer around but still very drinkable stuff.

Bottle. A muddy, particulate golden Amber with a small but lasting creamy white head. Aromas of citrus, grain, pale malt and light toast. Similar flavour profile but with some interesting esteriness. Light to medium body, medium carbonation and a soft, relatively short hop bitterness to finish.

Bottle to pint. Grainy husk and slight citrus aroma. Pours a very hazy yellow gold. Massive turbidity. Large amount of sediment. Flavor is husks and cereal with slight orange backing. Thin mouthfeel.

Nectar of the Gods in South Australia. On a hot summer day, a 4C Paley is the ultimate session beer. An ale (you know, so it has actual flavour as opposed to the filtered down lager options) that doesn’t pretend to be more than it is, refuses pretentiousness and just delivers a straight up, quality beer you can drink with your mates. Yes, it has sediment. It’s a bottle brewed ale. Get over it. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with good head, good retention too after a mellow roll. Taste of a clean, crisp malt, a touch of earth and floral at the side of the tongue. If you want the best beer in the world, this isn’t it. If you want a solid brew you can enjoy all night with mates over the pool table/campfire/whatever...this is it. As us locals say...go the green, be nice and lean. Don’t change up, you’ll turn mean.

Bottle at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) Pours a clear deep golden colour with no head. Murky sediment left in a third of the bottle. Aroma is sweet of grain, maize, some orange, slight peach and weird, perfumey hops. Taste of grain, some maize, a little diacetyl, subtle orange and a little peach. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A short, dry, grainy bitterness in the finish. Getting past all the beer and sediment left, it’s quite lager like with subtle citrusy hoppiness. Quite disappointing.
