UPDATED: MAR 9, 2008 Bottle. Thin grassy nose, floral-citrus with a touch of cardboard. Pours an off-golden with a soapy white head and some noise from the fizz. Taste is a bit stale, with mild not-quite-bready maltiness and faint bitterness. Some sweetness. Thin body, dry aftertaste, and inoffensive. Not something Iím going to be having again any time soon, but still one of the better Pale Lagers.

Rated based on notes from 24 May 2012 -- Aussie beer! Solid beer, better than the stuff I drank when I visited, dumb younger self should have sought out the best of what Australia had to offer!

Clear golden colour with a white frothy head that dissipates quickly. Mildly malty aroma and taste with little bitterness. Carbonation is lacking a little.

375ml bottle into schooner glass. Slight malt nose. Crystal clear amber beer with solid white head. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Abrupt crisp finish. Malty and streets ahead of other Aussie lagers.

The words Coopers and Lager donít roll easily off the tongue. Right from the very start I always associated this drop with its Cloudy but fine epithet. Without wanting to take the easy way out and endorse the words of highlandlad I would like to take the easy way out and endorse the words og highlandlad. Yep, those terrible POR hops jump in and just bully poor little saaz out of the contest. This is just another one of those technically well brewed beers that is a clone of all the others of its ilk. Indeed, you would have thought with this offering that the voracious Lion has already opened its jaws and swallowed a family. If this is a takeover defense then who cares?

A fantastic lager. Crisp, light lemon notes, with a mild even weak character. Breadiness is spot on.

Itís hard to get excited about lager - neutral flavour - nothing outstanding - an easy quaffing thirst quencher.

The body has a good golden yellow hue with good clarity and a bright white head on top. This loosely packed head fades fast and leaves only a ring of foam around the edge of the glass. The aroma is simple and light. It has just a moderate nose of light grain and husk with faint hops in the background. Its flavor is mostly of light grain, plain biscuits and grassy hops that give it a good balance of bitterness and a crisp clean finish. On the tongue this light bodied beer has a light, crisp, and refreshing well carbonated feel.
