2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
I thought with the Coopers name this would have something a little different from the usual, mass produced lagers, especially their so called premium labels.
Unfortunately, I was wrong. This has little to distinguish it from any other average Australian bottled lager. While better than my poor beer yardsitck, VB, it is not worth extra for a stubby. IT smells, looks and tastes like anything mass produced about the traps.

Easy drinkability. Nice gold color. However it does not have much personality.

Tap. A jug alongside a tableful of Malaysian food. Yellow gold with a white head. Fizzy. Clean bland and smooth with bread and hints of citrus and flowers. Fresh, clean and guzzleable. Entirely fit for purpose.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Cereal grains and a bit of biscuit on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes pretty clean.

Rated based on notes from 24 May 2012 -- Aussie beer! Solid beer, better than the stuff I drank when I visited, dumb younger self should have sought out the best of what Australia had to offer!

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear golden colour with a white frothy head that dissipates quickly. Mildly malty aroma and taste with little bitterness. Carbonation is lacking a little.

The words Coopers and Lager don’t roll easily off the tongue. Right from the very start I always associated this drop with its Cloudy but fine epithet. Without wanting to take the easy way out and endorse the words of highlandlad I would like to take the easy way out and endorse the words og highlandlad. Yep, those terrible POR hops jump in and just bully poor little saaz out of the contest. This is just another one of those technically well brewed beers that is a clone of all the others of its ilk. Indeed, you would have thought with this offering that the voracious Lion has already opened its jaws and swallowed a family. If this is a takeover defense then who cares?

A fantastic lager. Crisp, light lemon notes, with a mild even weak character. Breadiness is spot on.

From a bottle. Pours clear light gold, thin white head, not much flavour, mild malty aroma. OK
