2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 Stew41 (1413) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - NOV 20, 2011
This is clearly good for the style but not a truly super light beer. So in reality should really be compared the stable mate ’Mild’ plus the likes of Punch and Judy. Good balance right throughout and the malts do lend some decent weight with toffee and a almost ESP-like finish. In another (non-beer geek) life I’d be happy with this as a mid weeker.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20 Zenwolf (257) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 4, 2010
Draught. Great for what it is... but at the opposite end of the spectrum for me. Drinkable with a smooth mouth and a crisp finish. Surprising amount of malt and balanaced well with the slight grassy hops. Best "light" beer I’ve tried in a while.
1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Davros (919) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 27, 2010
Pours pale gold with a quickly fading head.
Nose shows bacon with dirty malt and rotten vegetable. I thought there may be some hops in here, but the rotten vegetables are just too strong. Horrible. Absolute crap aroma. Massive bacon and vegetables.
Flavours are somewhat better, mainly because they’re incredibly faint. Some bacon and vegetable stew still shows, but then sweet malt takes over with absolutely no bitterness whatsoever to follow.
Very light body, low carbonation as well which doesn’t do well to dry out the excessive sweetness.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bmeup (402) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - MAY 8, 2010
Big stubbie 375ml. Rating as a lite beer, as should be. Light straw and thin looking with a puffy head. Clean grainy malt and bitterness. Crisp, easy drinking and quite good for a lite beer.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 BarossaLuke (419) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 22, 2010
Another fairly bland inoffensive light Australian lager, as if there were’nt enough of these in our store fridges as it is here we have another one 100th of 1% different from all the rest. Clean crisp beer, just plain dull.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 nate2g (1548) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2009
Draught at Kings Head Hotel, Adelaide. Clear golden with white head. Aroma and flavour of pale malt, citrus and minerally. Low bitterness and relatively clean. Not a bad light beer overall.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mkel07 (1556) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - APR 22, 2009
375ml bottle. Creamy and fluffy white head of foam. Pale amber in colour with good carbonation and large bubbles and a head that lingers. Very indistinct mild malta roma with a crisp tatse and good bitterness. Surprisinglt good fow a light beer with good mouthfeel.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 TheGrandMaster (2308) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 24, 2008
Draught. A clear light gold with a large creamy white head and impressive lacing. Just the slightest hint of grainy malt on the nose. Light mouthfeel alright. But decent malt palate.
