DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 25, 2005 Amber gold, thin head, no real aroma, thin thin thin palate. Just another light beer. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 10, 2005 Bottled, labelled Regency Light. Golden colour, near no head. Light boided and lightly bready with some grassy hops. It’s somewhat thin with a hint of metal, thankfully interrupted by a light spicy bitterness. highlandlad (1200), Sydney, Australia May 17, 2005 This is now sold under the brand name "Regency Light" with the same abv. Poured a cloudy gold colour with a fast-diminishing 0.5cm head but plenty of visible carbonation. The distinctive house yeast aroma is present but subdued. Pineapple notes, a dab of butter and a hint of hop make it smell a lot more inviting than most lights. But tastewise it’s a crashing disappointment. Dominant flavour is wet cardboardy malt and... er, that’s about it, but for a bit of bitterness in the finish. It’s as thin and unsatisfying as any other light beer. For an extra 0.6% abv, you can drink the Mild, which at least has some genuine Coopers character. This smells better than the average light but that’s about it. bluevegie (1772), Perth, Australia Jan 24, 2005 Dull looking pale golden body with short lasting head. Aroma of hops. Taste is there if you look for it, bland and flat malt taste. Coopers make a couple good beers but it seems that they make a couple of shockers as well. I was forced to give this a couple extra points only cos I have given worse beers a better rating. mutant (839), Melbourne, Australia Jan 15, 2005 Amber colour with a lightly hoppy aroma. However it is almost completely devoid of taste. There is only the merest hint of vinigar in the aftertaste. Another waste of time.
