Coopers Sparkling Ale is brewed naturally by the centuries-old top fermentation method just as it was in the beginning by Thomas Cooper. This beer displays a solid head and a distinctive, full-bodied flavour enhanced by a soft, fruity character and the sediment which gives it a cloudy appearance.

375ml bottle from Valhalla’s Goat, Glasgow (at Shawhill) (28 Dec 2013) - hazy deep golden, thin white head, fruity aroma, very poor lacing, high carbonation, berry fruits flavour, fruity aftertaste, spoiled by being too fizzy

Bottle 0,33l. Pours a hazy gold, small white head. Aroma of yeast, hops, floral, earthy notes, fruit. Taste is bready, malty, yeasty with a slight citrus element and a caramel aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Rhythm and Booze, Ripon. Pours hazy amber with a frothy white head. Quite a sweet caramel nose with some fresh citrus. Tastes bitter, hoppy and refreshing. A bit lagery perhaps and the finish is a touch soapy, but OK.

375ml bottle form Appellation Wines. Hazy golden yellow pour, no head to speak of. High carbonation. Aromas are the lemon end of citrus, cereal and corn. Taste is quite bitter with a lingering light sweetness. Surprisingly full mouthfeel, and a short, crisp finish. Pretty good.

Bottle rhythm and booze. Pours with a fizzy white head soon dissapears hazy golden straw colour. Aroma is sweet honey malts. Taste is sweet honey malts with a tangy sour citrus kick. Stong carbonation which fizzes on the tongue good body. I really liked this sweet and sour combination with fizz very unique.

This is a different beer from a different time. Lots of sediment in the bottle and it needs to be poured carefully after the bottle has settled for a few days. That said it is unique in flavour. Dusty, with a touch of citrus and malt. Hop flavour is subtle. Fresh bread notes on the nose and tongue.

Golden color, small head, sediment highly present. Fruity and earthy aroma. Full body. Taste has something weird I didn’t like, lacks balance in my opinion. Very strange, not my cup of tea.
