Coopers Sparkling Ale is brewed naturally by the centuries-old top fermentation method just as it was in the beginning by Thomas Cooper. This beer displays a solid head and a distinctive, full-bodied flavour enhanced by a soft, fruity character and the sediment which gives it a cloudy appearance.

The body has a bright yellow color with lots of carbonation and yeast particles in suspension even with a careful pour. On top sits a soapy bright white which gradually settles out and makes only a little bit of spotty slick lace. The aroma is light and crisp. There is a light grainy character with herbal mineral like hop notes and a touch of lemon zest. It has a snappy pale grainy maltiness with some bready yeast and light fruity notes like citrus fruit with apples and pears. Hops add a nice light bitterness to the mildly sweet malt and some herbal notes to the finish which is fairly short. The body has a refreshing and easy drinking light to medium feel and texture with crisp lively carbonation.

Pours a clear light rust orange with heavy carbonation. Has a citrus malt aroma. Taste is also full of citrus malts, along with apples, grains and some spices. A light bitter aftertaste - more than expected.

Bottle sample from early backlog notes 07/08. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy malts, hints of caramel and biscuits, some fruitiness with mild citrus and apples. Everything seemed weak and stale. Maybe it doesn’t travel well.

Smooth malty sweet smell, taste is similar...malty with very low hops...taste that is hard to place...slight butterscotch?

Bland aroma. Pale, but hazy, small brief head. Fizzy palate, thin and watery. Some starch. Not so good. Apple. No thank you.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow golden color, topped with small wjite head. It quickly settles to a small cover. The aroma is pleasantly malty, there are also some sweet fuits. Some dust later on. The taste is sweet, slightly spicy. Some unpleasant bittery taste later. There’s some metallic feel in the aftertaste. Not my favourite Coopers.
