COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Coopers Sparkling Ale is brewed naturally by the centuries-old top fermentation method just as it was in the beginning by Thomas Cooper. This beer displays a solid head and a distinctive, full-bodied flavour enhanced by a soft, fruity character and the sediment which gives it a cloudy appearance.

Cloudy pale brown unfiltered. Not sure what it tastes like. Smells of cinnamony maple syrup maybe? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The thing with this beer is you know when you are drinking it. Love the yeast sediment that makes it cloudy, ballsy alcohol content, old school full flavoured reminds me of sitting with grandad around the 50s kitchen laminex table with a tally and a couple of glasses and listening to worthy working class discussions. Notta quaffa - higher alcohol content will cut that idea short. Very honest beer tho Coopers have some ooffy pooffy beers as well which I stay clear of.

Pours fizzy murky golden colour with a residual fleeting head. Aroma is earthy, woody, spicy hop. A little lemon. Smells like a fruity pilsner. Really high carbonation Noble-hop flavor, again some lemon in the taste, Light body, refreshing. No pretensions to be anything but an easy drinking, chugging summer beer.

375ml bottle from Waitrose. Slightly cloudy and golden colour with a small off white head. Light malt aroma. Yeasty flavours, apple, and bread.

375ml bottle from O’Briens. Amber tinted gold, cloudy, thin white head which quickly disappears. Not much of a nose. Dry, fruity palette, with a nicely balanced biscuit sweetness and a touch of fruity hop bitterness. Medium-light bodied, quite highly carbonated. Soft and delicate in the finish. This is a cracking sessioner.

I opened this bottle and it immediately violently erupted and half of it spilt on the floor, so that was really sad. At least it lives up to its name as a ’sparkling’ ale I guess. Pours hazy amber. Aroma is fruity and hoppy. Taste is bitter and hoppy, sweet and fairly carbonated.

Cloudy golden, minimal head. Aroma is sweet malts, some hops. Taste is malts, grain, slight bitterness, some vinegar-y skunk (perhaps due to being near the best before date).

375ml bottle poured into a tumbler glass. Cloudy and almost turbid rustic golden color with a small off white head. Light malt aroma, some yeast, faint floral notes and nothing much on the nose. Yeasty flavors, with baked apple, some bread, lo-med bitterness and faint earthiness. Medium bodied, quite dry, but overall pretty dull and lifeless.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
