3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I think fondly of Coopers Sparkling as my start point in the search for fine ales. Its a bit homebrewey tastewise and yeast can be too strong, and how does it get away with calling itself sparkling. Its cloudiest amber ale I know! But like an old girlfriend I can only think fondly and say thanks.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle, pours cloudy golden brown with a small head, aroma is grainy and biscuit malt, hop character is pretty muted leaving a taste that is not unpleasant but not special either. For something I got from the supermarket, it’s not bad.

Golden hazy orange, with an off tan head. Rather odd bitterness, which tastes rather metallic , rather than hoppy.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Apperance is golden in colour, with a small frothy white head. Quite cloudy with lots of sediment. Aromas of cereal, wheat, biscuity malt and fruitiness. Full bodied taste with bitter hops, fruits, caramel and toffee hints. Short finish. This was unexpectedly good.
